Inspiring outdoor adventures for all ages!
We use outdoor activities to teach, challenge and support people in a safe, nurturing and positive environment.
Adventure Therapy incorporates behavioural goals and cognitive approaches into tailored activities that are highly efficient in building trust, and enable the client to achieve positive, experience based quantitative and qualitative results.
Our highly trained staff have specific areas of expertise in a variety of fields. These can include outdoor activities, positive behavioural support, risk management, therapy and counselling. Each team member is dedicated to helping clients improve their self-esteem, develop their skills and abilities, and most-importantly, have fun whilst participating in Adventure Therapy.
Our aim is to provide the best environment for people to achieve positive outcomes and growth.
Adventure Therapy programmes focus on outdoor activities alongside research-based Cognitive-Behavioural Approaches, carried out by our highly skilled and motivated team.
We design individual programmes and activities based around the results of in-depth initial assessments. Using a variety of well-researched assessment tools provides us with the foundation for intensive Adventure Therapy, with the aim that positive outcomes will lead to stable changes in the client's future activities and behaviours.
Our programmes are suitable for children and adults who present with behavioural, psychological, cognitive, emotional, and developmental difficulties who will be able to enjoy a more integrated and fulfilling life when therapy is complete.
With all Adventure Therapy programmes, we work in association with The Forensic Psychology Practice (FPP). FPP services include delivery and analysis of initial psychological well-being assessments to identify psychological issues that can be addressed by specific adventurous activities.
This can include identification of neurodevelopmental disorders, cognitive deficits, and ill psychological health. Support from FPP is utilised to devise a programme of activity tailored to address the person’s psychological needs. Further consultation is also provided throughout the programme.
Programmes are predominantly based in and around the Midlands, however we do operate nationwide. We have access to an excellent network of venues for specific service needs, and all of our programmes are specially designed to suit the specific needs of the service required.
The integration of psychological approaches in Adventure Therapy is the foundation for the success of COG's activity and sets us apart from other providers of outdoor activities. Comprehensive assessment followed by activity with therapeutic focus leads our clients to real and lasting change.
